This is a special mix, dedicated to my brother’s record collection. The records are all pretty much from the 1980s, and reflect that moment when hip hop, house, and rave music collided spectacularly.

Some of these records were, at the time, US imports which you had to get from specialist record shops. The record shop, in this instance, was probably Spinadisc, in Northampton, which, remarkably, lives on today.

These early records hugely influenced my taste in music, and inspired my own lifelong obsession with record collecting.
